Mountain View Hospital is seeking an Endoscopy Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse to join our team. Provides nursing care for endoscopic and ophthalmic procedures, administers pre-procedure meds, starts IVs, and educates patients and families.

During recovery, monitors vital signs, manages pain, ensures safety, and coordinates with the care team to discharge patients home. Requires Idaho licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS, and ability to work in a fast-paced setting.

Formación

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Idaho LPN or RN licensure.
• BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required.

Mountain View Hospital is looking for an Endoscopy Licensed Practical Nurse/Registered Nurse to join our team!

Job Summary

Provides nursing care to patients being admitted for endoscopic and ophthalmic procedures as well as following discharge from the endoscopy/ ophthalmology procedure room in either an asleep but arrousable post procedure state or an awake post sedation state through discharge to home. During the admission process the nursing role focuses on assessing, identifying, and solving nursing care and pre-procedure problems. The nurse is responsible for starting and monitoring IVs, administering pre-procedure medications, performing pre-procedure instruction and explanation of the patient’s rights and procedures. During the recovery phase upon discharge from the endoscopy suite/ ophthalmology operating room, the nurse is responsible for monitoring vital signs, providing pain management, providing patient and family education, and ensuring the safety of the patient until discharge into the vehicle of a responsible driver. He/she must facilitate and demonstrate cooperative behavior with colleagues and supervisors at all times.

Qualifications

Education/Certification: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse or Registered Nurse in the state of Idaho. Current BLS, ACLS and PALS certification required.

Experience: Special training or experience in endoscopic/ perioperative environments, preferred. Knowledge and understanding of sedated patient care, including medication action; side effects, reversal agents, and precautions is required.

Equipment/Technology: Basic computer knowledge.

Language/Communication: Must have the ability to effectively read, write, and speak English.

Mathematical Skills: Basic Math Skills, dosage calculations.

Mental Capabilities: Can frequently and consistently make sound judgments. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Can adapt to rapidly changing work flows due to changes in the schedule.
