Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking an Endoscopy Tech to support the reprocessing and maintenance of endoscopes in an ambulatory care setting. The technician will work under the supervision of a registered nurse, ensuring safe, efficient patient care and adherence to policies, ethics, and compliance guidelines.

Responsibilities include reprocessing endoscopes, assisting with procedures, maintaining inventory, and ensuring a clean, safe environment while supporting daily schedules and quality

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent (required).
• CPR – Basic Life Support (required).
• Bachelor of Science Degree preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains competencies in the reprocessing of endoscopes and operating the scope washers.
• Identifies endoscope integrity issues and assists in repairs.
• Maintains documentation regarding inventory and repair of endoscopes.
• Uses proper patient identification procedures when transporting patients.
• Safely transports patients by wheelchair or stretcher.
• Expedites schedule and turnover between procedures; knows endotherapy supplies.
• Locate, obtain, and restock supplies and equipment.
• Performs services requiring technical and manual skills under physician/nurse supervision.
• Maintains a clean and orderly environment.
• Assists the nurse in patient prep before and after procedure.
