Job summary

Lovelace Women’s Hospital in Albuquerque, NM is hiring a day shift, full-time Endoscopy Lab-B Surgical Scrub Technician. You will assist surgeons in the operating room, convey sterile instruments, and uphold patient safety under RN supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma, graduation from a surgical technology program, anatomy and physiology knowledge, and BLS certification within 14 days of hire. Preferred: OR certification and 1 year OR experience.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or clinical-based program.
• Anatomy and Physiology, sterile technique, medical terminology, instrumentation, and medical equipment knowledge.
• Sterilization techniques; Operating Room instruments and supplies; medical terminology.
• Six (6) months of experience in an operating room or ambulatory surgery unit.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Responsibilities

• Assists surgeons with surgical procedures within the operating room under the direct supervision of a registered nurse to include conveying sterile instruments and supplies used in basic to complex surgical procedures.
• Adheres to policies, procedures, and regulations to ensure compliance and patient safety.

Education
