Job summary

Advocate Health Care seeks a Registered Nurse (RN) for the Endoscopy/GI Lab at Sherman Hospital in Elgin, IL. The position is full-time with 40 hours weekly, 8-hour shifts, Monday–Friday. Shift times vary by case start times, and on-call weekends occur every 4th weekend with rotating weekday call shifts.

Experience includes a minimum of 1 year in clinical nursing, BLS certification, and an active RN license. Benefits begin Day 1 and include medical, dental, vision, PTO, and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a Board of Nursing approved nursing education program.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in the applicable state.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications may be required by specialty.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Engage in governance, quality initiatives, and evidence-based practice to improve care processes.
• Use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care with patient/family involvement across the care continuum.
• Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, and coordinate with the care team to optimize outcomes.
• Maintain a culture of safety and ensure accurate documentation in EHR.
• May float to other units as needed to meet patient care needs.
• Adhere to ethical standards and nursing professional responsibilities.
