Job summary

Duke Regional Hospital in Durham, NC is seeking a Nursing Care Assistant I (CNA) to join the Endoscopy Services team. The NA works closely with RNs and LPNs to provide direct patient care, prepare patients and equipment, and support procedures in a fast-paced gastroenterology/brochoscopy area.

The role emphasizes patient safety, basic care tasks, accurate data recording, and adherence to hospital policies. On-site work with opportunities for skill development in a Magnet-designated system.

Qualifications

• Completion of Level I Nurse Aide program approved by NC Board of Nursing.
• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Inpatient/ER experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients, equipment and supplies for procedures and assist with non-direct patient care.
• Record patient data and notify RN/LPN of changes in condition.
• Provide basic care (feeding, bathing, mobility) and assist with daily activities.
• Support patient comfort and safety and maintain clean, stocked work areas.
