Job summary

VCU Health's Endoscopy unit provides comprehensive care to thousands of patients annually and seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support patients and providers. The role is primarily administrative but requires CMA experience to perform pre-calls for procedures and patient education, and to assist with patient transport within the hospital.

You will coordinate with supervisors and the Nurse/Practice Manager to meet clinic needs, handle medications, and provide direct care under physician

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Graduation from a medical assisting training program (CAAHEP/ABHES) preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and email required.

Responsibilities

• Support physicians and patients by performing pre-calls for procedures and patient education.
• Assist with high call volume and coordinate patient transport within the hospital.
• Provide direct patient care under physician direction and ensure age-appropriate care.
• Handle, transport, and access medications and related supplies.
• Provide patient care, emotional support and problem solving following hospital policies.
