Endodontist (part time) - School of Dental Medicine

Job Summary

The Endodontist will specialize in the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of damage or injury to the tooth pulp, tissue, and nerves within and surrounding the root of a tooth that have become damaged or infected due to bacteria. This is a part-time position, up to 20 hours/week.

Characteristic Job Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Provide quality care for patients with endodontic problems, adhering to high standards of ethics and professionalism.
  • Examine, diagnose, and treat diseases of dental pulps and periapical tissues.
  • Evaluate findings and prescribe treatment to prevent tooth loss and restore functionality.
  • Diagnose conditions and plan treatments, including pulp capping, pulp removal, root canal treatment, and filling pulp chambers and canals with endodontic materials.
  • Contribute to student success as a faculty member, including advising and participating in scholarly activities.
  • Engage in community outreach and institutional activities, such as fundraising and serving on boards.
  • Perform surgical removal of pathologic tissue at the apex of teeth and other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements
  • Must possess a DMD or DDS license and be capable of obtaining a Pennsylvania dental license.
  • Completion of an accredited advanced education program in endodontics.
  • Computer literacy, including experience with dental software, and knowledge of ADA coding, HIPAA, FERPA, OSHA, and safety protocols.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively, maintain confidentiality, and be flexible with duties.
  • Supervisory experience with dental students preferred.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Licensed DMD or DDS, with the ability to obtain a Pennsylvania dental license.
  • Completion of an accredited advanced endodontics program.
