Job summary

CLS Health PLLC is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to join the Endocrinology team in Pearland, TX. You will support patient care by rooming patients, taking chief complaints, updating medical histories, and recording vitals.

Responsibilities include chart preparation a week in advance, verifying benefits, scanning documents, and assisting the physician with wound care and procedures. Spanish bilingual skills are a plus.

Qualifications

• Certified or Registered Medical Assistant with a nationally recognized accreditation organization or graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
• 1 year experience as Medical Assistant.
• Endocrinology specialty experience is a plus.
• Bilingual Spanish speaking is a plus.
• Experience in a medical office or customer service environment preferred.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and document chief complaint, medical history, medications, and vitals.
• Prepare patient charts a week in advance and verify benefits reports.
• Scan documents to appropriate patient charts and ensure rooms are stocked and clean.
• Assist physician in exam room with wound care and procedures.
• Follow up on calls/voicemails and document conversations.
• Schedule patients for upcoming appointments after physician review.
• Obtain authorizations prior to sending orders when needed.
