Hackensack University Medical Center is seeking an experienced Endocrinologist to join the Endocrinology & Diabetes team. The role combines direct patient care, teaching responsibilities for medical students and residents, and active participation in quality improvement initiatives.

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive diabetes and endocrine care, support preoperative diabetes consultations, and participate in 24/7 hospital call coverage on a rotating basis.

Formación

• MD/DO degree from a recognized medical school.
• Fellowship in endocrinology from an accredited program.
• Experience in endocrinology/diabetes and/or affiliation with an academic institution.
• Ability to obtain and/or possess a New Jersey Medical License.

Responsabilidades

• Provide continuous and comprehensive clinical care for patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders.
• Lead inpatient diabetes consultations for medical and surgical patients.
• Teach medical students, residents, APPs and endocrinology fellows; participate in academic activities and quality improvement.
• Support preoperative consults for patients with diabetes and contribute to discharge planning and protocol development.
• Share 24/7 on-call coverage with practice physicians, including nights, weekends, holidays, and vacations.

Highlights

• Provide continuous and comprehensive clinical care for patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders.
• Support the preoperative consultative service for patients with diabetes.
• Facilitate inpatient diabetes consultations for medical and surgical patients
• Assume a teaching role for medical students, residents, advanced practice providers and endocrinology fellows.
• Assist in developing patient care protocols, hospital-based policies and discharge planning to improve care optimization
• Collaborate with diabetes care and education specialists to improve patient education and diabetes care.
• Participate in the equitable 24/7/365 on-call schedule, including weeknights, weekends, holidays, and vacation coverage, in collaboration with practice physicians.
• Provide seven (7) 24-hour periods of unrestricted hospital call coverage every eight (8) weeks for Emergency Department and inpatient endocrinology consultations.

Requirements

• MD, DO Degree from a recognized medical school;
• Completion of a fellowship in endocrinology in a recognized institution;
• Experience in endocrinology/diabetes and/or an affiliation with an academic institution
• Ability to relate effectively to all levels of the clinical and administrative structure of the medical center as well as of other institutions affiliated with the Division of Endocrinology
• Board Certified Internal Medicine & Endocrinology
• Ability to obtain and/or possess a New Jersey Medical License

• Budget and Grant Funding: Departmental budgets and any grant funding associated with the job position may impact the pay that can be offered.
