Job summary

Hackensack University Medical Center in New Jersey seeks an Endocrinologist to join its Endocrinology & Diabetes team. This role blends direct patient care, teaching, and quality improvement initiatives within a dynamic health network.

Qualifications

• MD/DO degree from a recognized medical school.
• Completion of fellowship in endocrinology in a recognized institution.
• Experience in endocrinology/diabetes and/or affiliation with an academic institution.
• Ability to relate effectively to all levels of the clinical and administrative structure.
• Board Certification Internal Medicine & Endocrinology.
• Ability to obtain and/or possess a New Jersey Medical License.

Responsibilities

• Provide continuous and comprehensive clinical care for diabetes and endocrine disorders.
• Support the preoperative consultative service for patients with diabetes.
• Facilitate inpatient diabetes consultations for medical and surgical patients.
• Assume a teaching role for medical students, residents, AP providers and endocrinology fellows.
• Assist in developing patient care protocols, hospital-based policies and discharge planning to improve care optimization.
• Collaborate with diabetes care and education specialists to improve patient education and diabetes care.
• Participate in 24/7/365 on-call schedule with weeknights, weekends, holidays, and vacation coverage.

• Provide continuous and comprehensive clinical care for patients with diabetes and endocrine disorders.
• Support the preoperative consultative service for patients with diabetes.
• Facilitate inpatient diabetes consultations for medical and surgical patients
• Assume a teaching role for medical students, residents, advanced practice providers and endocrinology fellows.
• Assist in developing patient care protocols, hospital-based policies and discharge planning to improve care optimization
• Collaborate with diabetes care and education specialists to improve patient education and diabetes care.
• Participate in the equitable 24/7/365 on-call schedule, including weeknights, weekends, holidays, and vacation coverage, in collaboration with practice physicians.
• Provide seven (7) 24-hour periods of unrestricted hospital call coverage every eight (8) weeks for Emergency Department and inpatient endocrinology consultations.

Requirements

• MD, DO Degree from a recognized medical school;
• Completion of a fellowship in endocrinology in a recognized institution;
• Experience in endocrinology/diabetes and/or an affiliation with an academic institution
• Ability to relate effectively to all levels of the clinical and administrative structure of the medical center as well as of other institutions affiliated with the Division of Endocrinology
• Board Certified Internal Medicine & Endocrinology
• Ability to obtain and/or possess a New Jersey Medical License

Compensation

HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members. The minimum base salary for this position is $223,622. The posted rate of pay in this job posting is a reasonable good-faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of our market-competitive total rewards package.
