Job summary

Boston IVF in Waltham, MA is hiring an Endocrine Lab Technician to operate hormone analyzers and manage specimens on-site. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to SOPs, and maintaining EMR records.

Monday–Friday with rotating weekends and holidays; benefits are provided for 30+ hours/week. Ideal candidates have a Bachelor’s degree in a chemical/biological/clinical laboratory science and at least 6 months of lab experience.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a chemical, biological, clinical laboratory science or related – preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED – required
  • Minimum 6 months’ laboratory training towards degree or experience in a clinical or research lab – required
  • Electronic Medical Records experience – preferred
  • Ability to operate laboratory equipment and hormone analyzers

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate and current records of patient results and inventory
  • Performs hormone assays utilizing an automated process and resulting system; reports results into EMR
  • Adheres to the laboratory’s quality control policies; documents all quality control activities
  • Follows the laboratory’s policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within established levels
  • Studies and remains current with laboratory operating manuals and safety guidelines
  • Maintains HIPAA confidentiality and protects patient information

Endocrine Lab Technician - Waltham, MA

Full-Time Waltham, MA, US

The Endocrine Laboratory Technician is expected to be proficient at operating and maintaining hormone analyzers onsite. This position must f ollow the laboratory’s procedures for specimen handling and processing, reporting and maintaining records of patient test results. Attention to detail is essential with these duties.

Schedule: Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM or 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. This position also requires participation in a rotating weekend and holiday schedule.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

  • Maintains accurate and current records of patient results and inventory. Performs hormone assays utilizing an automated process and resulting system; reports results into Electronic Medical Records (EMR) computer system.
  • Adheres to the laboratory’s quality control policies; documents all quality control activities, as well as all instrument and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
  • Follows the laboratory’s policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established, acceptable levels of performance.
  • Studies and remains current and knowledgeable with the Laboratory Operating Manual regarding quality assurance, quality control, safety procedures and operating guidelines for performing all assigned laboratory services.
  • Holds a comprehensive understanding of and follow all OSHA requirements for safe laboratory operations to maintain a safe laboratory environment.
  • Assures quality care by adhering to therapeutic standards; follows practice, physician and laboratory division philosophies, as well as standards of care set by the state and other governing agency regulations.
  • Works cooperatively with the Company multidisciplinary teams to provide good patient care and achieve the objectives and goals of the practice.
  • Maintains patient confidence and protect operations by keeping all patient and proprietary information confidential. Adheres to signed HIPAA Confidentiality Agreement.

Academic Training:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a chemical, biological, clinical laboratory science or related – preferred
    • Studies level: University Education (Bachelor's Degree)
    • Studies area: Chemical/Biological/Clinical Laboratory Science or other related field
  • High School Diploma or GED – required
  • Studies level: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)
