Job summary

Gastroenterology of the Rockies is seeking a full-time, non-exempt team member to support GRock Endoscopy Centers and other locations in the Denver/Boulder area.

Responsibilities include equipment maintenance, patient interaction, and supply management under RN supervision. Strong communication and teamwork are essential; HS diploma or GED required, medical experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED.
  • Some medical experience preferred, but not mandatory.
  • Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in written form with staff and equipment vendors.
  • High level ability to function as a member of a team.
  • Intermediate computer skills and ability to work with a variety of machinery.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining a clean sterile environment with all equipment and monitor supply levels to ensure well stocked equipment.
  • Monitors endoscope condition to determine probable malfunctions and notifies proper personnel to prevent complications.
  • Assists staff and doctors with issues or problems related to scope, processor, and auxiliary equipment.
  • Helps maintain a safe environment for patients and staff; consults nurse/doctor for management of problems and acts in emergencies.
  • Performs room turnover, room setup and bed cleaning; follows safety and infection control guidelines.

Pay range: $20.50 -$26.00

Reports to: RN Supervisors

Location: GRock Endoscopy Centers (Varies). Required to work at other endoscopy centers, in addition to primary/home location.

Position Summary

Gastroenterology of the Rockies is a rapidly growing Gastroenterology practice in Boulder County and the greater Denver Metro area with eight office locations and five Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

Cleans and maintains equipment and facilities used in the performance of medical procedures.Interfaces with patients, and staff members to ensure achievement of high levels of patient satisfaction and organization goals.Monitors supply levels, and processes orders for replacement supplies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Maintaining a clean sterile environment with all equipment as well as monitor supply levels to ensure well stocked/equipment properly cleaned.
  • Monitors endoscope condition to determine probable/possible malfunctions of equipment and takes appropriate action including notifying the proper personnel to prevent complications with the equipment.
  • Uses knowledge and understanding of the scope, processor, and auxiliary equipment to assist staff and doctors with any issues or problems that may arise.
  • Help maintain a safe environment for patients and staff members.Consults nurse and/or doctor for management of problems.Acts appropriately in critical/emergency situations to resolve the issue quickly, in accordance with appropriate procedures.
  • Meets all safety and infection control requirements, including proper PPE and knowledge of safety guidelines. Performs room turnover, room set up and bed cleaning in a timely manner and as set by facility guidelines.
  • Participate in staff meetings.Assists in developing ways to meet department goals in a more effective and efficient manner and is an active part of implementation of new processes and procedures.
  • Reconciles and balances money and credit card transactions and facilitates sending information over to the Accounting Department for processing.
  • Keeps all documentation complete, accurate and on time. Ensures end of day check list is accurate and complete.
  • Always communicates in a non-judgmental and non-discriminatory manner that preserves the patient’s rights and dignity.
  • Performs other duties and projects as requested by the nursing staff or management team.

Minimum Qualifications
  • HS diploma or GED
  • Some medical experience preferred, but not mandatory.Verifiable steady work history.
  • Excellent ability to communicate verbally and in written form with staff and with equipment vendors.
  • High level ability to function as a member of a team, supporting the teamwork concept.
  • Intermediate computer skills, and ability to work with a variety of machinery.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • This position is primarily sedentary and requires the ability to remain seated for extended periods, with occasional standing, walking, and use of a computer and standard office equipment.
  • Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers. The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.
  • Raising or lowering objects of up to 50lb
  • Ability to distinguish and identify different colors, judge distance and space relationships, to see clearly at 20inches or less and 20ft or more, peripherally, ability to adjust vision to bring object into focus.
  • Exposure to wet conditions, hazardous materials, and potentially infectious bodily fluids in a laboratory setting
