Job summary

AdventHealth in Kissimmee, FL is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide patient care in the endoscopy unit under the supervision of RNs. The role includes documenting patient data, planning care, obtaining informed consent, and assisting during procedures.

Responsibilities include post-procedure education, timely reporting, equipment upkeep, and ensuring continuity of care. Requires LPN license, BLS, IV certification, and GI/ACLS are optional preferences.

Qualifications

• Technical or vocational training required for LPN role.
• Endoscopy experience not required but LPN scope applicable.

Job Description

• LPN provides care to the endoscopy patient under RN supervision.
• Completes medical records for all key physiologic, social, and psychological factors for endoscopy patients.
• Plans patient care using orders from the endoscopist, anesthesia, and RN input.
• Implements patient care and obtains informed consent.
• Carries out endoscopist’s and anesthesia’s orders.
• Performs pre-procedure testing and reports abnormal results.
• Educates patients and families before procedures.
• Delivers phase II post-procedure care and discharge education under RN supervision.
• Ensures continuity of care by timely reporting to caregivers.
• Practices accountability through teamwork, communication, and skill development.
• Stocks and cleans admit/recovery rooms as needed.
• Assists directly with procedures.
• Cleans, maintains, and documents endoscope care.
• Maintains endoscope cleaning supplies.
• Positions patients, secures monitors, and transports patients as required.
• Stocks and maintains procedure room supplies.
• Cleans procedure room and monitors.
