Job summary

Indianapolis Endodontics - Avon is seeking a skilled Dental Assistant to join our endodontic team and help deliver exceptional patient care in Avon, IN. You will support the endodontist during root canal treatments and other procedures while maintaining a calm, comfortable environment for patients.

The ideal candidate holds a dental assistant certificate (preferred), 3+ years of experience, Indiana X-ray certification, and good communication skills.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Aseptic and sterilization techniques knowledge.
• Follow instruction and training guidelines for endodontic practice.
• Understanding of dental hygiene procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist the endodontist during root canal and related procedures.
• Sterilize instruments and disinfect equipment per infection control standards.
• Take dental radiographs, including cone beam CT scans as needed.
• Maintain patient records and charting using dental software.
• Provide pre- and post-operative care instructions to patients.
• Ensure patient comfort and manage anxiety during procedures.
• Prepare and mix dental materials; manage inventory.

Qualifications:

• Dental assistant certificate from an accredited vocational school (preferred, but not required)
• 3+ years of dental assisting experience (preferred)
• X-ray certification for the State of Indiana
• Current BLS and CPR certification (preferred, but not required)
• Excellent understanding of dental hygiene procedures

• Knowledge of aseptic and sterilization techniques
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Follow instruction and training guidelines for endodontic practice

As an Endodontic Assistant you will:

• Assist the endodontist during root canal treatments and other endodontic procedures including root canal therapy(anterior/posterior), root canal retreats, apicoectomy, internal/external resorption treatments, vital pulp therapy and cracked tooth evaluations.
• Sterilize instruments & disinfect equipment in compliance w/infection control standards.
• Take dental radiographs (X-rays), including cone beam CT scans if needed.
• Maintain accurate patient records and charting using dental practice software.
• Provide patients with pre- and post-operative care instructions.
• Ensure patient comfort and manage patient anxiety during procedures.
• Mix and prepare dental materials (e.g., sealers, irritants, temporary fillings).
• Maintain inventory and order dental supplies as needed.
