Job summary

Axis Pipe and Tube LLC is seeking an End Weld Operator for our Bryan, Texas facility. This full-time, manual-labor position pays $20.00–$22.00 per hour and involves setup, changeovers, and splicing on the tube mill.

The role requires basic experience, strong measurement skills, and good English communication. Candidates with welding knowledge are preferred. We offer comprehensive benefits and a safety-focused, manufacturing environment in oil-and-gas country.

Qualifications

• 1–3 months' related experience or training in a related field.
• Able to read, write, speak and understand English to follow safety requirements.
• Moderate to advanced PC skills in MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint.
• Preferred welding principles knowledge or welding experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate end-welder to join edges of two metal coils.
• Maintain tools and keep equipment in good condition.
• Monitor the mill accumulator and report issues.
• Perform maintenance as required.
• Follow supervisor instructions and complete assigned tasks.

End Weld Operator

Full Time Manual Labor Bryan, TX, US

Salary Range: $20.00 To $22.00 Hourly

Job Summary:

The End Weld Operator assists with changeovers, set up, and splicing on the tube mill.

Responsibilities:

• Operate end-welder. Entails operating a complex machine that welds the edges of 2 metal coils together.
• Maintain tools; keep all work equipment in good operating condition.
• Monitor the accumulator.
• Perform maintenance as required.
• Communicate with the status or any issues along the mill line.
• Responsible for completing any assignments given by Supervisor, even those assignments not specifically listed in this job description.

Qualifications:

• One to three months equivalent experience in related field OR, Proof of training in an area related to the job assignment
• Reasonable knowledge in hand-held measuring devices, micrometers, measuring tapes, go/no-go gauges, grinding, operation of thickness gauges and depth gauges
• Moderate to Advanced PC Skills in Microsoft Applications, i.e., MS Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint
• Able to read, write, speak, and understand English sufficiently to follow job and safety requirements.
• Preferred: knowledge of welding principles or welding experience

Physical Requirements:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; use hands to fingers, hands to feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
• The employee frequently is required to climb, balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and smell. The employee is occasionally required to sit.
• The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
