Job summary

Techify Care is seeking a freelance installation technician to perform end-to-end setup of POS devices at client sites. The role involves equipment removal, new device installation, cable management, and network configuration, followed by testing and sign-off with the client MOD.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of installation experience and can follow client instructions, ensure safety, and complete the checkout process with professionalism.

Qualifications

• 1+ year experience with device installations.
• Comfortable following client instructions and safety requirements.
• Familiarity with POS devices and basic networking would help.

Responsibilities

• Check-in with the MOD and verify the work order.
• Install the P630/M425 device and required cables.
• Configure the device and enter network parameters.
• Pair the POS device and initiate software downloads.
• Run tests and coordinate with branch/Store Manager for testing.
• Complete checkout and cleaning of the work area, with client sign-off.

Key Responsibilities

• Check-In
• Check in with the designated Manager on Duty (MOD).
• Confirm the work order and locate the equipment/lane(s) assigned for installation.
• Remove the existing/legacy device and associated cables as instructed.
• Ensure removed equipment and cables are handled appropriately.
• Install the new P630/M425 device and required cables.
• Ensure all equipment is properly connected and securely installed.
• Device Configuration
• Enter the required network parameters.
• Pair/configure the POS device as instructed.
• Initiate any required software or configuration downloads.
• Device Downloads & Reboot
• Allow the device to complete automatic downloads and required reboots.
• Verify that the device is operating correctly.
• Perform a test sale/transaction for registration, as instructed by the client.
• Testing
• Coordinate with the Branch/Store Manager for the required testing.
• Complete the test transaction and verify that the installation is functioning properly.
• Checkout
• Obtain the required sign-off on the work order.
• Clean up the work area and ensure no installation materials or debris are left behind.
• Complete the checkout process with the client/MOD.
• The client will provide training and activity-specific guidance to the technician before or during the installation. The technician is expected to follow the client’s instructions, installation procedures, and safety requirements throughout the activity. Technician Requirement: The technician should be comfortable with basic device installation, cabling, configuration, troubleshooting, and following client-provided technical instructions.
