Job description

Position Summary

This Senior or Principal position performs Civil Structural, Design, Systems, Program, Plant Component or Nuclear engineering activities in support of the safe, reliable, and efficient operations of the nuclear generation power plants at a Plant and Fleet expert level. Primary responsibilities include leading the development of plant modifications, calculations, engineering evaluations, operability determinations, maintenance of design basis documents, and resolution of Corrective Action Issues. Additional responsibilities include overseeing other engineers in reviewing existing or new design documents, supporting plant operation, assessing adverse conditions, conducting engineering analyses, and project management.

Essential Responsibilities
  1. Lead or oversee the development of plant modifications or program documents. Perform or supervise complex troubleshooting of nuclear plant systems, calculations, evaluations, operability determinations, and maintenance of design basis documents. Support continued plant operation, assess adverse conditions, and manage projects. Improve equipment reliability through preventative maintenance and technical leadership.
  2. Develop schedules, utilize work management tools, and perform engineering activities at a subject matter expert level to support site and fleet goals. Perform additional duties as assigned.
  3. Attend department and plant meetings; represent the company at industry events and activities.
  4. Participate in training and complete other projects as directed by department leadership.
Minimum Requirements

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field from an ABET-accredited college or university or equivalent. At least 10 years of engineering experience for Principal or 8 years for Senior, demonstrating problem-solving expertise in nuclear plants and at least one engineering discipline. Ability to obtain and maintain qualifications for unescorted access to nuclear plants. May be required to assume emergency response duties and live within 30 or 60 minutes of the plant. Maintaining nuclear 'fitness for duty' is essential.

Preferred: Professional Engineer (PE) license, SRO License or certification, or an advanced degree in engineering or related field.
