Job summary

Space Dynamics Laboratory (SDL) is seeking an experienced Mission Program Manager to lead formulation, capture, and execution of NASA and Civil Space missions within the Civil & Commercial Space Division (CVS).

This role covers end-to-end spaceflight programs—from concept development and proposal capture to spacecraft, payload development, testing, launch, and operations—overseeing technical, cost, schedule, risk, and partner integration across distributed teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or closely related technical discipline.
• Extensive experience leading complex aerospace development programs and spaceflight projects.
• Strong leadership, negotiation, and communication skills with customers and partners.

Responsibilities

• Lead end‑to‑end NASA and civil space missions from formulation through mission execution.
• Oversee mission cost, schedule, technical performance, and risk across teams.
• Direct multidisciplinary teams across SDL, universities, and industry partners.
• Mentor project managers and develop future mission leaders.
• Ensure mission commitments are achieved safely and within contractual requirements.
