Job summary

Advanced Containment Systems, Inc. in South Houston is seeking a mechanical engineer to apply engineering principles across R&D, design, manufacture, installation and commissioning.

You will help manage people and resources and drive the development and use of new materials and technologies. The role covers drafting, design, testing, and production support, collaborating with manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to ensure reliable, cost-effective solutions that meet safety and performance

Qualifications

• BSME degree with 4+ years of ME design experience, or MS with 3+ years, as stated in the posting.
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical drafting standards and best practices.
• Advanced proficiency with Pro-E 3D modeling and AutoCAD.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and sheet metal design.
• Ability to document engineering work and maintain clear drawings and specs.
• Good organizational and communication skills with cross-functional teams.
• Experience with fabrication and manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

• Developing engineering design and BOM from concept to production.
• Developing project specifications with colleagues across disciplines.
• Testing and evaluating theoretical designs and completing designs on time within budget.
• Collaborating with manufacturing, subcontractors, suppliers and customers to solve problems.
• Ensuring products can be reliably manufactured and perform under specified conditions.
• Managing projects using engineering principles and techniques.
• Producing detailed specifications and outline designs.
• Recommending modifications after prototype testing.
• Applying modeling, analysis and planning to support design decisions.
• Considering cost, safety and time constraints in designs.
• Working with other professionals within and outside engineering specialties.
