Job summary

Surge Group is seeking a Full-Stack Software Engineer to partner with high-growth AI startups in New York, building core products from the ground up. You will own end-to-end development across frontend, backend, infrastructure and AI integrations, collaborating with founders and customers, shipping 0→1 features, and shaping architecture with fast, scalable systems.

You’ll join small, highly technical teams and have tangible ownership over significant product areas.

Qualifications

• Backend experience with Python, Node.js or similar.
• Strong product judgment and engineering fundamentals.
• Comfort working with ambiguity and limited structure.
• Interest in AI and how it changes the way software products are built.
• Startup or 0→1 experience is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Work across frontend, backend, infrastructure and AI integrations to build customer-facing products.
• Own major product areas from idea through launch.
• Ship 0→1 features and iterate quickly with founders and customers.
• Make architecture decisions balancing speed, reliability and scale.
