Job summary

UCHealth in Aurora, CO is seeking a Neurodiagnostic Technologist to perform a variety of neurodiagnostic tests, including EEGs, EMU, CEEG and ambulatory EEG studies. The role is onsite with no hybrid/remote option and requires ABRET registration and 1 year EEG experience.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree or graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Neurodiagnostic Technologist Program or High School diploma/GED with 1 registry.
  • Registered as an Electroencephalographic Technician (REEGT) by ABRET.
  • 1 year of EEG experience.
  • BLS through AHA or Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date; valid through 60 days after hire.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of neurodiagnostic tests, including routine EEGs, EMU, CEEG and Ambulatory EEG studies; may train and participate in special procedures such as SPECT injection, intracranial EEG monitoring and WADA.
  • Monitors and documents patient condition; performs troubleshooting; forwards results to attending physician; maintains equipment and lab conditions; reports malfunctions.
  • Completes paperwork for procedures; ensures archiving of records; maintains safe environment; adheres to safety and infection control policies.
  • Assists with special projects during non-patient care downtime.
  • Exhibits critical thinking, decisive judgement, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced setting.

Location: UCHealth Anschutz Pavilion - Aurora, CO

Department: Neurodiagnostics

Work Schedule: Full Time, 80.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Flex

Pay: $29.54 - $44.31 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

This position is an onsite role and does not offer a hybrid or remote option

Summary:

Performs a variety of neurodiagnostic tests. Provides descriptive analysis of EEG waveforms and patterns. Provides general oversight of END Technologist Is.

Responsibilities:
  • Performs a variety of neurodiagnostic tests, including but not limited to routine EEGs, EMU, CEEG and Ambulatory EEG studies. May train and participate in special procedures such as SPECT injection, intracranial EEG monitoring and WADA and other subspecialties.

  • Monitors and documents patient condition and responds to and reports any adverse reactions. Identifies and performs technical troubleshooting and artifact identification and elimination. Edits and forwards results to attending physician for analysis and interpretation. Maintains equipment and lab conditions. Reports malfunctions as needed.

  • Completes paperwork for procedure being conducted; follows up with archiving of records. Maintains a safe working environment and demonstrates safety, infection control, standard precautions and risk management policy adherence.

  • Assists with special projects during non-patient care down time.

  • Within scope of job, requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action.

Requirements:
  • Associate's degree or graduate of an CAAHEP accredited Neurodiagnostic Technologist Program or High School diploma/GED with 1 registry.

  • Registered as an Electroencephalographic Technician (REEGT) by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (ABRET).

  • 1 year of EEG experience.

  • BLS through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer with card in-hand before start date. BLS or CPR card must be good through sixty days of hire.
