Job summary

Stepping Stones Learning Center is seeking a dependable End-of-Day Closing Teacher to join our child care team in Michigan. The role includes afternoon classroom coverage and end-of-day cleaning and closing tasks to prepare for the next day.

The Closing Teacher will maintain child-to-staff ratios, actively supervise children, and ensure a safe, nurturing environment while assisting with daily routines and adherence to licensing requirements.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Michigan Child Care Licensing requirements

Responsibilities

• Take over classroom responsibilities from the departing teacher
• Maintain proper child-to-staff ratio
• Actively supervise children at all times
• Provide a safe, nurturing, and positive environment
• Assist with afternoon snack, toileting/diapering, outdoor play, transition, and other daily routines
• Follow proper health, sanitation, and safety procedures
• Follow classroom schedules and routines
• Complete required classroom documentation
• Follow Stepping Stones Learning Center policies and all applicable Michigan Child Care Licensing requirements
• Cleaning and sanitizing tables, chairs, counters, and classroom surfaces
• Cleaning and sanitizing toys and classroom materials as required
• Sweeping, vaccuming, and mopping assigned areas
• Cleaning and sanitizing toileting and diapering areas
• Emptying trash and replacing liners
• Cleaning up afternoon snack
• Straightening and organizing classrooms
• Returning toys and materials to their appropriate areas
• Completing the center's end of day closing checklist

Stepping Stones Learning Center is looking for a dependable, responsible, and caring End-of-Day Closing Teacher to join our team.

This is a child care teacher position with additional end-of-day cleaning and closing responsibilities. The Closing Teacher will come in during the afternoon and take over for a classroom teacher as staff members leave for the day. This employee will be responsible for the care and supervision of children and will be counted as classroom staff.

As classrooms close and children leave, the Closing teacher will also complete assigned cleaning and closing duties to ensure the center is clean, organized, and ready for the following day.

Michigan Child Care Teacher Requirements Applicants must meet all Michigan Child Car Licensing requirements applicable to a teacher working in a licensed childcare center.

This includes, as applicable:

• Meeting Michigan requirements to work as a child care center teacher
• Completing the required comprehensive child care background check/fingerprinting and recieving an eligible determination
• Complete health and safety training and other required training
