Job summary

Sofidel America in Duluth, MN seeks a Converting End of Line Operator to join our manufacturing team. You will support the Converting Production Supervisor by operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting packaging and handling equipment on a 12-hour rotating shift.

Ideal candidates have a basic mechanical aptitude, a commitment to safety, and the ability to work independently or in a team. The position starts at $25.85 per hour with a competitive benefits package.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot malfunctions and perform restarts, syncing, and sensor cleaning.
• Monitor conveyor operations and ensure smooth flow of finished goods.
• Operate touch screens per specifications.
• Open and close work orders for equipment setup and operation.
• Perform PC touch/E80 operations; escalate issues to maintenance/vendors as needed.
• Control manual label creation/deletion in production.
• Assist with new item implementation accurately.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Support operations to meet schedules and quality requirements.
• Maintain a safe work area and follow safety rules.
• Participate in meetings to discuss issues and approvals.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Prior experience preferred but not necessarily required in unique circumstances. Possess basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, shipping/warehouse and inventory requirements, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Must demonstrate a dedicated commitment to safety.
• Must be willing and able to learn equipment operations.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• High level of initiative and drive.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Work Environment

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season. The employee will be exposed to considerable paper dust and employees will also be exposed to noise levels that will require hearing protection.
