Job summary

Sofidel America in Duluth, MN seeks a Converting End of Line Operator to support the Converting Production Supervisor. You will operate, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment, with a focus on safety and quality.

Rotating 12-hour shifts with a starting wage of $25.85 per hour. This role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and within a team to keep lines running smoothly and meet schedules.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Start and monitor the operation of production equipment, including LGVs, Quads, palletizers, labelers, and stretch wrappers.
• Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary restarts, syncing, and cleaning of sensors.
• Monitor conveyor operations and ensure the smooth flow of finished goods.
• Operate touch screens to ensure the proper operation of equipment according to specifications.
• Open and close work orders accurately for equipment setup and operation.
• Perform PC touch/E80 operations and troubleshooting; escalate issues to maintenance or vendors as needed.
• Control manual label creation and deletion in production.
• Assist with new item implementation accurately.
• Follow verbal and written instructions effectively.
• Assist with any operations to maintain workflow and meet schedules and quality requirements.
• Maintain a safe work area and comply with safety procedures.
• Participate in meetings and work groups to communicate issues, obtain approvals, and resolve problems.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Position Overview

Sofidel America is seeking a Converting End of Line Operator to join our dynamic team. This role will support the Converting Production Supervisor in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting various pieces of production equipment. If you have a strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a desire to contribute to a dynamic team, we want to hear from you. This position works a 12 hour rotating shift and starts at $25.85 / hour.

Job Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• Prior experience preferred but not necessarily required in unique circumstances. Possess basic computer skills.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, shipping/warehouse and inventory requirements, operating and maintenance instructions, and quality and procedure manuals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Must demonstrate a dedicated commitment to safety.
• Must be willing and able to learn equipment operations.
• Able to work independently and in a team environment.
• High level of initiative and drive.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Personal protective equipment (PPE) is required when in the plant and warehouse areas. PPE will include safety shoes, eye and ear protection, reflective vests and hairnets or hats along with any other necessary protection. Temperatures in the plant/warehouse can range a great deal from season to season. The employee will be exposed to considerable paper dust and employees will also be exposed to noise levels that will require hearing protection.
