We are currently seeking an Encapsulation Machine Operator for our Phoenix, AZ location.

Scope of Position:

The Encapsulation Machine Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining capsule-filling machines to ensure efficient production while adhering to strict quality and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail, adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and collaboration with quality control and production teams to meet company goals.

Principal Responsibilities:

Machine Setup and Operation:

  • Set up capsule filling machines according to production specifications.
  • Operate the machine to fill capsules with powders, granules, or pellets as per batch requirements.
  • Monitor machine performance and ensure smooth operation throughout the production process.

Quality Assurance:

  • Inspect capsules during production to ensure they meet quality and weight specifications.
  • Perform periodic quality checks, including fill weight, capsule integrity, and sealing accuracy.
  • Document production output and report any deviations or defects to the supervisor.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

  • Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the capsule machine to ensure optimal performance.
  • Identify and resolve minor mechanical issues or adjustments during operation.
  • Notify maintenance personnel for significant repairs or machine malfunctions.

Production Efficiency:

  • Maintain a steady production flow while minimizing downtime and waste.
  • Ensure compliance with production schedules and batch record documentation.

Safety and Compliance:

  • Follow all safety protocols and company policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene in the production area.

Competencies:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience working in a factory setting and operating various machinery.
  • Candidates must be able to commute to our facility and those willing to relocate before starting work are encouraged to apply.
  • Previous experience in a manufacturing facility.
  • Knowledge of machining processes and equipment.
  • Mechanical aptitude and understanding of assembly line operations.

Supervisory Responsibility:

There are no supervisory responsibilities in this position.

Work Environment:

This position takes place 100% of the time within a production facility. Regularly exposed to noise from machinery and to different nutraceutical powders and ingredients.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs. or more regularly.
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Bend, scoop, and reach overhead.
  • Comfortable working in a production environment with exposure to varying products and noise levels.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional overtime based on production needs.

Travel:

There is no travel expected with this position.

Education and Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; technical training is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience operating automatic capsule filling machines
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
  • Familiarity with GMP regulations and quality control procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and machine interface operation.
