Job summary

Qualifications

• 1 year of experience as a EMT Basic preferred.
• National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians as an EMT/B.
• Licensed in Louisiana as an EMT/B.
• Current Chauffer’s license or equivalent.
• Defensive Driving.
• Haz-Mat.
• BCLS Certification.

Responsibilities

• Responds to dispatch information and drives specially equipped emergency vehicles to specified locations within applicable norms.
• Stabilizes ill or injured persons by extricating, rendering first aid and relaying status to medical personnel.
• Utilizes medical equipment and procedures to provide advanced medical care.
• Documents activities with regard to patient care and billing.
• Keeps vehicles and equipment clean, organized, stocked and sanitized before each trip.
