Job summary

Acadian Ambulance Service is seeking an EMT to deliver frontline, lifesaving care in the field as part of a coordinated Emergency Services team around Lafayette, LA. You will respond to 911 and interfacility calls, assess patients, provide basic life support, and transport to medical facilities.

You’ll document care, operate EMS equipment, and collaborate with dispatch, partners, and hospital staff. As an employee-owner, you’ll receive extensive training, clear protocols, and a safety-focused,

Qualifications

• EMT-B or higher state certification and current CPR/BLS.
• NREMT certification preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.
• ACLS and/or PALS preferred or obtained after hire.
• EVOC/CEVO training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Respond promptly to 911 and non-emergency calls.
• Perform patient assessment and provide basic life support.
• Safely lift, move, and transport patients to facilities.
• Operate and maintain ambulances and equipment.
• Communicate with dispatch, partners, and hospital staff.
• Document patient care, assessments, and interventions.
• Follow clinical protocols, safety policies, and regulations.
• Participate in training, drills, and quality improvement.
• Provide compassionate, patient-focused care in diverse environments.
