Who We Are

Mitchell County Regional Health Center (MCRHC) is a 25‑bed critical access hospital in Osage, Iowa, serving the 10,600 population of Mitchell County. We provide Level 4 Trauma Center emergency services, 3,200 ER visits annually, and over 1,300 surgical procedures per year across multiple specialties.

About The Job

The Prn EMT role may respond to emergency and non‑emergency requests, providing Basic Life Support (BLS) as needed and transporting sick or injured patients to the appropriate medical facility. Primary duties include staffing a second crew and conducting inter‑facility transfers. The EMT may work with a Paramedic or other EMS personnel and must comply with Iowa Department of Public Health standards and MCRHC values.

Shift: All Shifts

Pay: $17.75/hour, increases with experience.

Position Qualifications

• Education:
  • Current state EMT certification as required by the state of this posting.
  • Current BLS certification card.
  • Preference for NREMT certification.
• Experience:
  • Previous healthcare or ambulance experience preferred.
• Special Skills & Aptitude:
  • Age 21 or over; current state driver’s license in good standing and insurable.
  • Age 21 or over; satisfactory driving record in accordance with the MCEMS Driving Policy.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care.
  • Ability to read and interpret required documents and write reports and correspondence.
  • Ensure all required certifications remain current.
  • Attend all MCEMS required OSHA training, annual training, and mandatory company updates.
  • Complete training within the allotted time set by the company.
  • Maintain knowledge about the job and the medical field.
