Job summary

HCA Florida JFK Hospital is seeking an Advanced Patient Care Technician (PCT) to join our team on a PRN basis. Under RN supervision, you will perform advanced clinical tasks and help create a safe, welcoming environment where patients and families feel valued and respected.

You will observe patients, document changes, assist with ADLs, and provide care such as phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, IV/catheter care, and wound care.

Qualifications

• BCLS certification is required.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention must be obtained within 30 days of start date.
• EMT-State Emergency Medical Technician certification is required.
• High School Diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients, document changes and communicate with the nursing team.
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and patient safety.
• Provide advanced care including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, IV and catheter care, and wound care.
• Assist with lab sample collection and clerical tasks to support care delivery.
• Anticipate patient needs and help ensure a seamless, compassionate patient experience.

Job Summary And Qualifications

• Observe patients, document changes, and communicate them with the nursing team
• Help patients with daily needs (ADLs) such as eating, drinking, bathing, and moving safely
• Provide advanced care, including phlebotomy, telemetry monitoring, removing IV lines and catheters, and care for wounds
• Assist with supporting tasks like collecting lab samples and assisting with clerical duties to keep care running smoothly
• Look ahead to what patients might need, respond quickly, and help ensure every experience feels seamless and compassionate

What qualifications you will need:

• Basic Cardiac Life Support
