Job summary

Emergent Health Partners' Jackson Community Ambulance in Jackson, MI is hiring EMTs to deliver high-quality emergency medical care on 12- or 18-hour shifts. Join a team focused on safety, compassion, and professionalism in out-of-hospital emergency medicine.

You will perform basic life support, patient transport, and collaborate with hospital partners under hospital-approved protocols. Required: MI EMT license, high school diploma, BLS CPR, valid driver’s license, and ability to pass background

Qualifications

• Licensure: Current State of Michigan EMT License.
• Certifications: Valid BLS CPR certification.
• Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Physical Ability: Capable of lifting and moving patients and equipment.
• Vetting: Pass background check, drug screen, and physical.
• Age: Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Deliver care to maintain high clinical standards, including CPR, airway management, oxygen use, bleeding control, and splinting.
• Safely operate ambulances and manage patient handling, including stretcher operations and loading.
• Treat patients, family, and staff with respect, providing emergency and convalescent care.
• Collaborate with hospital protocols and healthcare partners and coworkers.

In This Role You Will:

• Deliver Exceptional Care: Maintain high clinical standards while providing basic life support, including CPR, airway management, oxygen application, bleeding control, and splinting.
• Ensure Safe Transport: Safely operate ambulances and manage patient handling, including proficient stretcher operations, lifting, and loading.
• Provide Compassionate Service: Treat patients, family members, and facility staff with the utmost respect, providing both emergency and convalescent care.
• Collaborate Professionally: Work under hospital-approved medical protocols and cooperate effectively with a diverse range of healthcare partners and co-workers.

Required Qualifications

• Licensure: Current State of Michigan EMT License.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent.

• Driving Record: Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
• Physical Ability: Physically capable of lifting and moving patients and carrying heavy medical equipment.
• Vetting: Ability to pass a company-sponsored background check, drug screen, and physical.
• Age: Must be at least 18 years of age.

Preferred Qualifications

• Advanced Certifications: PHTLS or ITLS certification (Note: PHTLS training can be provided upon hire).
• Other Skills: Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm and professional in high-stress environments.
