Job summary

Monmouth County Sheriff's Office is seeking a qualified EMT to drive or ride an ambulance, provide on-scene and transport care, and coordinate with hospital staff throughout the resuscitation process.

You will answer all EMS calls, assess injuries, establish priorities, perform airway management, bleeding control, immobilization, and patient stabilization while ensuring safe traffic flow and proper documentation. This is an on-site position with comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• EMT certification required by NJ Department of Health.
• New Jersey driver's license required.

Responsibilities

• Answer all calls for emergency medical treatment.
• Drive Ambulance to location, park safely, and manage traffic with road flares and debris removal.
• Assess nature and extent of injuries and set priorities for emergency care.
• Administer emergency care: airway management, ventilation, and cardio-resuscitation.
• Control bleeding, treat shock, immobilize fractures, and provide initial care for poisoned and burned patients.

Under direction, drives or rides an ambulance to a specific location to provide emergency medical treatment, provides treatment both at the scene and on the return trip to the hospital; does related duties.

• Answers all calls for emergency medical treatment.
• Drives Ambulance to required location, parks ambulance in a safe location, and creates a safe traffic environment by placement of road flares, removal of debris, and redirection of traffic.
• Determines the nature and extent of injury and establishes priorities for emergency care.
• Administers emergency care such as opening and maintaining an airway, giving positive pressure ventilation, and cardio-resuscitation.
• Stops bleeding by bandaging or tourniquets, treats shock, immobilizes fractures, and provides initial care of poisoned and burn patients.

Requirements

• Applicants are required to possess a current and valid Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification issued by the New Jersey Department of Health.
• Appointees will be required to possess a driver's license valid in New Jersey.
