Eugene Springfield Fire is recruiting full-time Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)/Paramedic Single-Role and full-time limited duration and part-time temporary, licensed Basic Life Support (BLS) Technicians.

The Single Role EMT functions in support of the lead medic on an ALS ambulance and is responsible for performing skilled basic life support medical care, including pre-hospital care, assessment, preparation, and transportation of sick and/or injured patients. The work must be consistent with the EMT-B/A certification level as specified by the State of Oregon Scope of Practice.

The Single Role Paramedic functions as the lead medic on an ambulance and provides field training oversight to other Paramedics or EMTs. This position performs skilled ALS medical care, including pre-hospital care, assessment, preparation, and transportation of patients, consistent with the EMT-Paramedic certification level as specified by Oregon Scope of Practice.

The Basic Life Support Technician (BLS Tech) is responsible for pre-hospital care, packaging, and transportation of patients, mainly on code 1 scene calls within Eugene/Springfield. Work is performed within the EMT scope. This is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable experience and knowledge of the Eugene Springfield Fire Department, beneficial for future careers in EMS or fire services.
