- Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability
- Build rapport with donors to ensure overall customer satisfaction
- Ensure donor and staff confidentiality
- Inform donors about potential hazards
- Provide donor education regarding general health and counsel donors regarding unacceptable test results
- Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events
- Evaluate histories of illness or medications to ensure continued donor suitability

Requirements
- Educated and currently certified/licensed in the state of employment and according to state requirements as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocation Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT
- Current CPR certification required
- Ability to stand and sit for up to 2 to 4 hours per day each
- Ability to bend and twist the neck for 1 to 2 hours per day
- Frequent hand movement and ability to make fast, simple movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists
- Ability to make precise coordinated finger movements to grasp and manipulate objects
- Frequent foot movement; ability to squat, crouch, or sit on heels on rare occasion
- Ability to lift 15 lbs. routinely, with a maximum lift of 50 lbs.
- Hearing acuity essential
- Correctable near vision and far vision; vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and the other eye to 20/100
- Ability to communicate and understand spoken information
- Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions
- Ability to perform a wide range of tasks under variable demands and changing conditions
- Ability to relate sensitive information to diverse groups
- Ability to work in a plasma center with exposure to biological fluids, infectious organisms, electrical office/laboratory equipment, and extreme cold below 32 degrees F
- Personal protective equipment required, including protective eyewear, garments, gloves, and cold-gear
