American Medical Response, Inc. is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician in Santa Clarita, CA. This full-time role reports to the Field/Operations Supervisor in Operations and is non-exempt under FLSA.

The EMT responds to emergent and non-emergent requests for medical assistance, delivering high-quality patient care and customer service within protocol and company policies. Various shift types exist, with overtime included and opportunities on Critical Care Transport and Special Events across

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required.
• CA Driver's License is required.
• Ambulance Driver’s License (DMV) is required.
• State of California EMT license is required.
• CPR Card (American Heart Association Health Care Provider) required.
• MCSA-5875/5876 certifications and IS-100/200/700/800 are recommended.

Responsibilities

• Follows and maintains familiarity with evolving medical treatment protocols, response requirements, quality assurance procedures, local SOPs and Company policies.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient assessment and treatment.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient billing information and services rendered.
• Uses medical equipment such as gurney, airway equipment, IVs, splints, bandages and medications in rendering proper emergency medical treatment.
• Communicates effectively with empathy and compassion to interview patients, family members, bystanders, other service agency members and facility staff.

HIGHLIGHTS:

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) responds to emergent and non-emergent requests for medical assistance and delivers high quality patient care, treatment, and customer service in the most expedient, professional, safe, caring, and cost effective manner possible within the prescribed scope of practice, established protocols and Company policies.

Various shift types available, overtime built into every shift configuration. Opportunities to work on a Critical Care Transport unit as well as multiple Special Events throughout Los Angeles County. Events include professional Baseball, Hockey, Football, Soccer and Basketball.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows and maintains thorough familiarity with evolving medical treatment protocols, response requirements, quality assurance procedures, local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other Company policies.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient assessment and treatment.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient statistical and billing information and services rendered.
• Appropriately uses medical equipment such as gurney, airway equipment/airway bag, IV, splints, bandages, and medications in rendering proper emergency medical treatment of patients.
• Communicates effectively with empathy and compassion to interview patients, their family members, bystanders, other service agency members and facility staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• CA Drivers’ License
• Ambulance Driver’s License (from DMV)
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MCSA-5875 and MCSA-5876)
• State of California EMT license
• CPR Card (American Heart Association ONLY, Health Care Provider. Hand written cards are not acceptable)
• K4 report (Driving Record) from the DMV(less than 30 days old)
