Job summary

Global Medical Response seeks an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in California. The role supports urgent and non-urgent medical requests, delivers high-quality patient care, and upholds company policies and protocols in a fast-paced environment.

Opportunities include a variety of shift types with overtime built into schedules and potential assignment to Critical Care Transport units and high-profile events across Los Angeles County.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• CA Driver’s License.
• Ambulance Driver’s License (DMV).
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate MCSA-5875andMCSA-5876.
• State of California EMT license.
• CPR Card (American Heart Association, Health Care Provider).
• K4 report (Driving Record) from the DMV (less than 30 days old).
• IS-100 (ICS 100).
• IS-200 (ICS 200).
• IS-700 (NIMS).
• IS-800 (NIMS).

Responsibilities

• Follows and maintains familiarity with evolving medical treatment protocols, response requirements, quality assurance procedures, local SOPs and company policies.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient assessment and treatment.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient statistical and billing information and services rendered.
• Appropriately uses medical equipment such as gurney, airway equipment/airway bag, IV, splints, bandages, and medications in rendering proper emergency medical treatment of patients.
• Communicates effectively with empathy and compassion to interview patients, their family members, bystanders, other service agency members and facility staff.

Emergency Medical Technician

Shift: Full-Time

Reports To: Field/Operations Supervisor

Department: Operations

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

HIGHLIGHTS:

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) responds to emergent and non-emergent requests for medical assistance and delivers high quality patient care, treatment, and customer service in the most expedient, professional, safe, caring, and cost effective manner possible within the prescribed scope of practice, established protocols and Company policies.

Various shift types available, overtime built into every shift configuration. Opportunities to work on a Critical Care Transport unit as well as multiple Special Events throughout Los Angeles County. Events include professional Baseball, Hockey, Football, Soccer and Basketball.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows and maintains thorough familiarity with evolving medical treatment protocols, response requirements, quality assurance procedures, local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other Company policies.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient assessment and treatment.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient statistical and billing information and services rendered.
• Appropriately uses medical equipment such as gurney, airway equipment/airway bag, IV, splints, bandages, and medications in rendering proper emergency medical treatment of patients.
• Communicates effectively with empathy and compassion to interview patients, their family members, bystanders, other service agency members and facility staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• CA Drivers’ License
• Ambulance Driver’s License (from DMV)
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate MCSA-5875andMCSA-5876
• State of California EMT license
• CPR Card (American Heart Association ONLY, Health Care Provider. Hand written cards are not acceptable)
• K4 report (Driving Record) from the DMV(less than 30 days old)
