Job summary

AMR in Baldwin Park, CA is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to provide high-quality patient care in emergent and non-emergent situations. You will respond to requests, document care, and operate medical equipment within scope of practice and company policies.

Opportunities include work on a Critical Care Transport unit and numerous Special Events across Los Angeles County. Licenses and certifications required include CA EMT, CPR, and DMV driving credentials.

Qualifications

• Minimum qualifications include high school diploma or equivalent, CA Driver’s License, and Ambulance Driver’s License with Medical Examiners prior to ADL.
• State EMT License for California and CPR Card (AHA) are required.
• IS-100/200 and IS-700/800 (NIMS) trainings completed.

Responsibilities

• Follows evolving medical treatment protocols and SOPs.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient assessment, treatment and billing information.
• Uses medical equipment (gurney, airway equipment, IV, splints) to render proper emergency care.
• Communicates with patients, families, bystanders, and facility staff with empathy and professionalism.

Job Title: Emergency Medical Technician

Reports To: Field/Operations Supervisor

Status: FullTime

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

HIGHLIGHTS:

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) responds to emergent and non-emergent requests for medical assistance and delivers high quality patient care, treatment, and customer service in the most expedient, professional, safe, caring, and cost effective manner possible within the prescribed scope of practice, established protocols and Company policies.

Various shift types available, overtime built into every shift configuration. Opportunities to work on a Critical Care Transport unit as well as multiple Special Events throughout Los Angeles County. Events include professional Baseball, Hockey, Football, Soccer and Basketball.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Follows and maintains thorough familiarity with evolving medical treatment protocols, response requirements, quality assurance procedures, local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other Company policies.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient assessment and treatment.
• Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient statistical and billing information and services rendered.
• Appropriately uses medical equipment such as gurney, airway equipment/airway bag, IV, splints, bandages, and medications in rendering proper emergency medical treatment of patients.
• Communicates effectively with empathy and compassion to interview patients, their family members, bystanders, other service agency members and facility staff.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
• CA Drivers’ License
• Ambulance Driver’s License (from DMV) must obtain Medical Examiners prior to ADL.
• K4 report (Driving Record) from the DMV(less than 30 days old)
• Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MCSA-5876)
• State of California EMT License
• CPR Card (American Heart Association ONLY, Health Care Provider. Hand written cards are not acceptable)
