Job summary

American Medical Response in Lancaster, CA is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to join our field operations team. You will follow protocols, document patient assessments and treatment, and provide compassionate care on every call.

Requirements include a California EMT license, CPR Card, valid driver’s licenses, and completion of FEMA ICS courses. This is a full-time, 12-hour shift role with a pay range of $19.65–$23.18 per hour, DOE.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • CA Driver's License and Ambulance Driver’s License.
  • CA EMT license and CPR required (AHA Healthcare Provider).
  • Medical Examiner’s Certificate per MCSA standards.
  • IS-100/200/700/800 ICS training completed.
  • K4 driving record must be less than 30 days old.

  • Document patient assessment, treatment, and billing information.

HIGHLIGHTS:
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Follows and maintains thorough familiarity with evolving medical treatment protocols, response requirements, quality assurance procedures, local Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and other Company policies.
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient assessment and treatment.
  • Maintains complete and accurate documentation of patient statistical and billing information and services rendered.
  • Appropriately uses medical equipment such as gurney, airway equipment/airway bag, IV, splints, bandages, and medications in rendering proper emergency medical treatment of patients.
  • Communicates effectively with empathy and compassion to interview patients, their family members, bystanders, other service agency members and facility staff.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
  • CA Drivers’ License
  • Ambulance Driver’s License (from DMV)
  • Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MCSA-5875 and MCSA-5876)
  • State of California EMT license
  • CPR Card (American Heart Association ONLY, Health Care Provider. Hand written cards are not acceptable)
  • K4 report (Driving Record) from the DMV(less than 30 days old)
