Job summary

Northwest Medical Center in Tucson, AZ is seeking an EMT I to provide basic emergency medical care and transportation under supervision of a Paramedic or clinical leader in the EMS department. You will help deliver pre-hospital care following state laws and department policies.

Responsibilities include patient assessment support, CPR and first aid, vehicle operation, equipment maintenance, EMR documentation, and collaboration with nurses and physicians to ensure safe transfer of care.

Qualifications

• Requires completion of a state-approved EMT program.
• Advanced EMT course preferred by employer.
• Experience in hospital ED, ambulance service, or critical care transport is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic emergency medical care per state scope of practice and policies.
• Assist with patient assessment, vital signs, and care under supervision.
• Administer CPR, wound care, bleeding control, immobilization, and breathing support as assigned.
• Operate emergency vehicles safely per hospital policy and traffic laws.
• Conduct shift-start vehicle and equipment checks; restock supplies.
• Maintain and document patient information accurately in EMR.
• Escalate concerns through proper chain of command.
• Collaborate with paramedics, nurses, and physicians for continuity of care.
• Perform other duties as assigned and maintain attendance.
