Qualifications

  • Completion of a state-approved EMT training program is required.
  • Advanced EMT course is preferred.
  • Experience in a hospital-based ED, ambulance service, or transport setting is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide basic emergency medical care within scope of practice.
  • Assist with patient assessment and vital signs under supervision.
  • Administer first aid and support CPR and bleeding control.
  • Operate emergency vehicles safely per policy and laws.
  • Conduct pre-shift vehicle/equipment checks and restock supplies.
  • Maintain PPE and infection control procedures.
  • Document patient information accurately in EMR.
  • Escalate concerns through chain of command.
  • Collaborate with paramedics, nurses, and physicians on transfer.
  • Attend to other duties and maintain reliable attendance.
