Job summary

Horizon Services, Inc. is seeking a Full-time EMT to provide bedside care and medical assessments at Gateway Medical Sobering in Albuquerque, NM. The role requires bilingual fluency in at least one NM threshold language and a NM EMT certification.

You will monitor vital signs, perform exams, assist LVNs, and support high-stress clinical operations. Responsibilities include wound care, oral biometrics collection, and documentation in electronic health records.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide service delivery and patient care.

Sign-On Bonus for Bilingual Applicants

$2,000 (Distributed in 4 parts: $500 after 30 days, $500 after 90 days, $500 after 150 days, and $500 after 210 days of employment)

Primary Accountabilities & Responsibilities

• Quality Assurance Play a supportive role to LVNs on shift.
• Engage in vital sign monitoring.
• Conduct medical assessments in the absence of an LVN.
• Check blood pressure, heart rate and respiratory rate.
• Ask about bruising, hematoma, or rash.
• Palpate trunk and extremities for bone deformities.
• Administer breathalyzer tests.
• Inquire about cough, chest pain, or other medical complaints.
• Evaluate and record level of consciousness and visible behavior.
• Briefly screen individuals for psychiatric needs.
• Perform wound care tasks as delegated.
• Administer Withdrawal assessment tools as back-up to LVNs.

What else is required?

• Certified Emergency Medical Technician EMT with the State of New Mexico
• Years of Experience as an EMT. (HT I) 0-1 year, (HT II) 1-2 years, (HT III) 2-3 years
• Basic academic knowledge and understanding of Substance Use Disorders and Mental Health
• CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
• Must have a NM driver’s license and good driving record in good standing
• Fluency in at least one of New Mexico threshold languages (Vietnamese, Mandarin, Cantonese, Dari, Arabic, Swahili, Kinyarwanda, and Diné (Navajo)

Salary
