Job summary

MedStar Health in Clinton, Maryland seeks an Emergency Vehicle Operator/EMT to medically transport patients between facilities, working closely with Paramedics and Critical Care nurses. The role offers a limited-time $8,000 sign-on bonus and rotating 12-hour shifts, with self-scheduling and weekend rotation.

Reporting locations include Clinton, MD or Baltimore, MD, with comprehensive benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Active NREMT-Basic certification is required.
• Current MD and DC EMT certifications or ability to obtain DC certification within 30 days after hire.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record (no more than four points).
• BLS, EVOC and CPR certifications required.
• FEMA ICS 100/200 courses and related orientation modules required.

Responsibilities

• Safely and efficiently operate a ground ambulance while obeying driving laws.
• Inspect ambulance at start of each shift to confirm readiness.
• Maintain professional radio communications with MedSTAR Transport and other agencies per FCC protocols.
• Transport patients to designated locations as assigned.
• Load and unload patients, equipment and passengers from MedSTAR Transport vehicles.
• Assist in unloading/transport of patients from other transport modes when needed.
