Job summary

Southern Regional Medical Center, a 331-bed non-profit hospital serving Clayton County and southern crescent metro Atlanta, seeks an EMT to join our night-shift ED team. You will assess and manage medical emergencies, support ED nurses under physician supervision, and contribute to high-quality care in a community-focused setting.

Required qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, Basic EMT training or ER experience, current BLS certification, ACLS and PALS within 30 days of hire, and

• Basic EMT Training or ER experience required.
• Current BLS certificate required upon hire and to maintain.
• ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• PALS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintain current.
• Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency required.

Responsibilities

• Assess and manage medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under supervision.
• Assist with patient care based on individual needs within scope of practice.
• Maintain a safe environment and work under ED RN or Charge Nurse.

Responsibilities

Emergency Medical Technician is responsible for the assessment and basic management of medical, trauma and environmental emergencies under the supervision of the staff nurse and / or physician. Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice; Assists in maintenance of a safe environment and performs under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

• High School Diploma or Equivalent or related experience required for new hires effective April 2014.
• Basic EMT Training or E.R. experience required.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.

Facility Specific Requirements (facility May Require Items Listed Below)

• Current ACLS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Current PALS certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current.
• Certified/Licensed EMT by the state certifying agency/entity required.
