Job summary

Thunder Valley Casino Resort seeks a vigilant EMT-Security Officer to respond to medical emergencies and support guest services. You will perform EMT care, CPR, AED, triage, and coordinate with on-site security and medical teams.

You will patrol public areas, deter disturbances, escort guests and teammates to vehicles, and ensure safety across casino property. Minimum qualifications include EMT certification, CPR, CA driver’s license, and the ability to obtain a Tribal Gaming License; strong

• High School education or equivalent preferred.
• Active EMT certification and CPR card required.
• Previous security or guest services experience preferred.
• Valid CA driver’s license and ability to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests and team members.
• Must be at least 21 years old.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergencies using EMT skills and coordinate care with medical personnel.
• Patrol public, team member service, back-of-house areas, and casino property.
• Defuse disturbances and respond to incidents as required.
• Observe and report suspicious activity or emergencies with immediate action.
• Escort guests and team members to vehicles when requested.
• Jump-start guests’ and team members’ vehicles as needed.
• Investigate and document incidents and enforce policies and procedures.
• Maintain high personal integrity and professional conduct.

Job description

Position Summary:The EMT will respond to all medical emergencies and provide emergency care for Guests or Team Members while waiting for emergency medical services and resources to arrive. Perform all Security Officer duties. Responsibilities must be performed in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.Essential Functions:1. Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort’s “ELITE” company-wide service mission and demonstrate AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.2. Respond to all emergencies, providing emergency care utilizing EMT skills and training including, but not limited to, CPR, AED, and triage care; communicate patient’s care to responding medical personnel, monitor vital signs, and apply dressings and compression.3. Patrol and observe all public areas, Team Member service areas, back of house areas, and Casino property for the safety of Guests and Team Members.4. Remain constantly alert and respond to all disturbances in order to defuse incidents, being prepared to become involved in a physical confrontation when necessary.5. Observe and report all suspicious activity, people, unusual situations, and emergencies, and take immediate action as required.6. Transport and protect Thunder Valley Casino Resort assets.7. Thoroughly investigate and document all incidents as required.8. Escort Team Members and Guests to and from their vehicles, when requested.9. Jump-start Guests’ and Team Members’ vehicles when needed.10. Demonstrate working knowledge of and enforce all applicable laws, policies and procedures.11. Maintain a high level of personal integrity.12. Display friendly, courteous, and polite behavior to internal and external Guests at all times.13. Practice teamwork, support fellow Team Members, and create an energized, positive work atmosphere.14. Give full attention to Guest opportunities and takes ownership of these opportunities to ensure Guest satisfaction.Minimum Qualifications:1. High School education or equivalent preferred.2. Previous work experience in security or guest services preferred.3. Ability to communicate effectively with Guests, Team Members and Management in both written and verbal form.4. Must maintain active EMT Certification at all times during employment and keep documentation on file with the department.5. Must possess CPR card.6. Valid CA driver’s license.7. Must be at least 21 years of age.8. Must be able to obtain UAIC Tribal Gaming License.Physical Requirements:1. Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.2. Must have the ability to subdue person(s), run, climb stairs, sit, stand, or walk for duration of shift.3. Must have the ability to lift and drag an unconscious person during an evacuation.4. Must have acute senses of smell and sound.5. Must be able to communicate using a two-way radio and telephone.6. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.7. Manual dexterity to operate job related equipment.8. Must be able to access all areas of the property which may include prolonged standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, bending, lifting, climbing, grasping, and reaching.Work Conditions:Work will be conducted in the casino, which may be hot, cold, noisy, and be in the presence of secondhand smoke. Work will also be conducted outdoors, including during periods of inclement weather. Team Members may be required to stand, walk, lift, reach, push, pull and grasp. These tasks include the maintenance and care of an assigned area. Team Member must possess proper safety training in the use of chemicals. Frequent contact with fellow Team Members and Guests is standard.
