Job summary

University Hospital is seeking a dedicated Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to deliver pre-hospital Basic Life Support (BLS) to patients of all ages. The role involves working under an EMS Supervisor, assessing, treating, lifting, and transporting patients, and ensuring accurate documentation.

You will join a professional EMS team and uphold the hospital’s standards in all weather and emergency situations.

Qualifications

• Active EMT certification from a recognized authority as listed.
• NJ reciprocity must be obtained within six months of hire.
• Valid NJ driver's license and DOT/MVC compliance for vehicle type.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers certification required.
• ICS 100 certification and NIMS Awareness required.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-hospital Basic Life Support to patients of all ages.
• Deliver care in all weather conditions and emergencies.
• Work under supervision of EMS Supervisor and coordinate with EMS staff.
• Assess, treat, lift, and transport patients using appropriate equipment.
• Complete documentation accurately and promptly.
• Support EMS operations and represent University Hospital professionally.

Active EMT certification (National Registry or NJ/PA/NY/DE/MD/VA/WV/DC)
