Job summary

Waverly Health Center is seeking an EMT for 1st shift with 0.90 FTE (36 hours/week) in a role covering pre-hospital and hospital patient care. The position requires Iowa EMT certification, strong English skills, and ability to operate and maintain emergency equipment and vehicles.

Responsibilities include providing life support, assisting in documentation, and collaborating with hospital and EMS teams. Weekend and holiday rotation is required.

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited EMT program and possess Iowa EMT certification.
• Must be able to read, speak, and write fluent English.
• Ability to learn and navigate computer systems including online training modules, timesheet and performance appraisal system.

Responsibilities

• Emergency patient care in pre-hospital settings as directed by physician and Iowa EMS guidelines.
• Hospital patient care in hospital setting as directed by physician and Iowa EMS guidelines.
• Perform routine maintenance on ambulance equipment and vehicles and complete daily checks.
• Maintain department living quarters and perform cleaning duties daily.
• Complete all reports and documentation in a timely manner.
• Assist with administrative duties and serve on departmental committees as assigned.
