Job summary

PatientCare EMS in Sioux Falls, SD is seeking a dedicated EMT to provide prehospital emergency medical care and transportation in accordance with established protocols. You will respond to calls, assist paramedics with ALS, document care, and ensure equipment readiness, while adhering to safety and regulatory guidelines.

Required credentials include SD EMT, BLS, NREMT, and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to meet driving requirements per policy.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Current South Dakota EMT Certification.
• Current BLS Certification.
• National Registry EMT (NREMT) required.
• Must be 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls.
• Assess, treat, and monitor patients per protocols.
• Assist paramedics with ALS interventions.
• Provide patient packaging, transport, and ongoing care.
• Document patient care and maintain reports.
• Ensure ambulance and equipment are ready and stocked.
• Perform routine equipment checks and report deficiencies.
• Maintain familiarity with equipment and proper use.
• Follow SOPs, REMSA guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
• Maintain infection control and PPE protocols.
• Communicate effectively with partners, dispatch, hospitals and responders.
• Participate in CME and maintain required certifications.
