Job summary

Carolina First EMS in Elgin, SC is seeking an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) to provide emergency medical care and safe transport. You will assess patients, deliver basic life support, and work with a team in high-pressure environments.

Qualifications

• EMT certification is required.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to emergency care.
• Experience with injections/medication administration preferred.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform triage to prioritize patient care based on severity.
• Provide immediate patient care, including basic life support and physical examinations.
• Manage airways effectively and perform necessary interventions.
• Administer medications under medical protocols.
• Monitor vital signs and document changes in patients' conditions.
• Assist with heavy lifting of patients during transport and transfer.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, ensuring all equipment is ready for use.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current with EMT practices and protocols.
• Other duties as assigned
