Job summary

County of Volusia is hiring EMT Trainee candidates to provide basic life support and pre-hospital care across Volusia County. The role requires availability for around-the-clock shifts, including days, nights, weekends and holidays, with duties spanning assessment, treatment, and transport.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or GED and Florida EMT-B certification (or eligibility), plus BLS Provider Card, and possess a valid Florida driver's license.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED is required.
• Must attach EMT Florida certification and BLS Provider Card with application.
• CPR (adult, child, infant) CPR credential required.
• Must possess Florida EMT-B certification and EMS credentials.

Responsibilities

• Performs assessment and treatment per DOT EMT-B curriculum.
• Operates and maintains equipment used for prehospital care.
• Safely operates emergency transport vehicles.
• Maintains patient care documentation accurately for records and billing.
