Job summary

Butler Medical Transport is seeking a Patient Transport Coordinator to manage and schedule hospital transport on 3 twelve-hour shifts. • High school diploma or equivalent.
• Hospital or medical office experience with medical terminology and records.
• Ability to assess patient needs from medical records.
• Strong multi-tasking in a busy environment.
• Clear, respectful communication with diverse populations.
• Ability to learn department practices quickly.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
• Ability to recall details from multiple resources.
• Proficiency with telephone and computer communication equipment.
• Pass a lift test of 150–200 pounds.
• Current AHA CPR certification or ability to obtain during onboarding.
• Must be at least 19 years old at time of hire.
• Successful completion of NREMT certification with current EMT license or obtain within 10 days of hire.
• Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Pass background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Schedule wheelchair, Basic Life Support, Advanced Life Support and Critical Care Transport requests.
• Ensure patient information and paperwork are correct to facilitate billing.
• Schedule and dispatch the dedicated ambulance crew for the scheduled shift.
• Serve as a liaison between hospital staff and transport crews.
• Assist in the safe transport from the hospital room to the ambulance.
• Secure and upload necessary paperwork to Butler Medical CAD.
• Respond to email and phone calls timely and efficiently.
