Job summary

Nicklaus Children’s Hospital is seeking an EMT Communications Specialist/Driver (Full Time, Nights) to support the Transport Program. You will provide patient care under R.N.

or Paramedic supervision, assist with interfacility transfers, and ensure safe operation of ambulances and equipment in field and hospital settings. You will handle dispatching, flight/fleet coordination, and maintain transport records while maintaining professional communication with the care team.

Qualifications

• EVOC certification must be current.
• American Heart Association BLS must be active.
• State of Florida driver’s license with clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Assist with interfacility and intrafacility transfer of patients.
• Represent Nicklaus Children's Hospital Transport Program professionally.
• Maintain ambulance, transport equipment and supplies.
• Operate and coordinate communications equipment for helicopter, fixed-wing and ground transports.
• Record transport logs and PI logs; provide clerical support as needed.
• Communicate with hospitals, physicians, nurses, and dispatchers to coordinate transports.
